Using Organization to Manage Stress
|
Thank you for visiting and choosing to read this article, it is a pleasure for me to provide you excellent written materials.
While there are many effective techniques for managing stress, perhaps the best is using a proactive approach to minimize stress. If you can organize your thoughts and prepare for upcoming events, you will be ready for what lies ahead and hopefully deal with things in a more relaxed manner. Although getting organized cannot totally eliminate stress, it will reduce the number of surprises in your life and allow you develop a plan for dealing with whatever life throws at you.
A calendar or planner will help immensely to get you organized and be prepared for events and obstacles. If there are holidays in the month in question, you will want to mark those if they are not on your calendar. Next you can write down any appointments or other obligations that are coming up.
It may also be helpful to write down your schedule if it is not the same everyday, as well as when your bills will be due. Creating a written budget will also help you alleviate stress by anticipating expenses, especially expenses or bills that do not follow a monthly cycle, like birthday presents or insurance. You might also write down things you want to accomplish, but that do not have a certain time they need to be finished.
After you know what you need to do during the month, you can look at each event individually and write down anything thing you will need to do to prepare for your events. By knowing what preparations you will have to make in advance, you will have plenty of time you get everything done, allowing you to take your time instead of doing everything at the last minute.
Lists are the favorite friend of busy people. How many times have you tried to get everything done that needs doing, only to realize that you'd forgotten something or missed an appointment? Being rushed and feeling pressured puts a strain on our brains to remember what we need to do, and keeping a list handy will let your mind relax, giving it a chance to focus on other things that may need more concentration. Write down day-to-day things, and list out goals for the week and month as well. Lists get rid of those last-minute rushes that can add a ton of pressure.
Crisis situations take up a lot of our energy and add plenty of pressure to what tensions we do carry around. Getting organized by using calendars and lists can keep you moving through your days at a steady, systematic pace that leaves you feeling more relaxed, as you know where you're going and what needs to be done. That way, when stressful events do occur, you'll have the energy to deal with them and feel less as if the situation is the straw that breaks the camel's back.
Thanks for reading hope you try out the ideas presented here.
